Manzini Youth Care Solar Technology Training is a program by Africa Meridionale (AFM), Salesian Planning and Development Office (SPDO). AFM, SPDO aims at addressing the effects of climate change by creating “Green Centres” and empowerment/strengthening of local communities in Southern Africa for the improvement of environmental and climate protection through the implementation of Eco-Ubuntu. MYC solar technology training course aims to equip the youth with myriad solar skills that once learned and inherited they can be able to stand the world on their own. The program runs for a duration of six months in a full time study timetable, and it hopes to execute two groups each year. The first edition of Eco-Ubuntu Sports Day for Salesians schools have concluded. Eco-Ubuntu is a project by Africa Meridionale (AFM), Salesian Planning and Development Office (SPDO). Its purpose is to address the effect of climate change by creating "Green Centres" and empowerment/strengthening of local communities in Southern Africa for the improvement of environmental and climate protection. Sports and cultural activities are both strong recommendations for gathering people for context sharing. It is for that reason Eco-Ubuntu gathered Salesians schools in hope of raising awareness on environmental issues that results to climate change, and to also propagate solutions or means in solving those environmental issues. It’s a huge celebration to Manzini Youth Care (MYC) staff and Bosco Study Centre pupils following an announcement by the administration that sports are resuming. For the past few years, the mighty organization has not been fully participating in sporting activities due to unforeseen solemn circumstances, so, the revitalization of MYC sports is indeed victory. The organization will be competing with different local Catholic schools (Manzini region) under the Eco-Ubuntu sports competition. The sheer purpose of this competition is to educate, promote and propagate practicable means instigated for the improvement of environmental and climate protection through implementation of the Eco-Ubuntu project. Bosco Youth Agriculture Centre is one of Manzini Youth Care centres. It is found at Mzimphofu in the Manzini region. BYAC is one of its kind. It was built to support and provide Agricultural skills to the youth especially those that are vulnerable and marginalized. During its early days of establishment, only two agricultural activities were supported and propelled to motion which was horticulture and piggery, but today the number of activities has grows immensely. Today the centre does beekeeping, animal breeding , and there's even an orchard. The BYAC training takes three to four months for a certain number of trainees per group of a certain gender. There's absolutely nothing more painful than being denied a space at tertiary or a scholarship award merely because you are a point down, just one point! Ask me ,I can attest to that ,I know how throbbing it is. More painfully, I had no idea I could make that one missing point a dozen more, simply by upgrading the fairly performed subjects.
