Social Welfare office

The MYC Social Workers conduct schools visits to monitor beneficiary academic progress and their welfare in general. The MYC Social Welfare department conducts assessments for aspiring Bosco Youth Agricultural Centre (BYAC) students who want to get into to the farming business and also for destitute children for the Don Bosco Care homes. The MYC social welfare office works hand in hand with the Deputy Prime Minister's Office under the social welfare department, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Home Affairs and with the Coordinating Assembly for Non-Governmental Organization (CANGO).

Our services

Advocacy, recruitment, assessment, research, placement and reintegration program for vulnerable youth.

Management / supervision of residential care homes

Networking with stakeholders such as the Social Welfare Department of Eswatini, Cango, parents/ relatives or guardians of the children, chiefs and Tinkundla Centre community leaders.

Placement of beneficiaries in various schools around Manzini.

Ongoing contacts, follow-up process with schools and families of beneficiaries.

Community outreach programs.

Also the department conducts community outreach programs whereby food parcels and clothes are distributed to soup kitchens around the Manzini City and other identified beneficiaries in some areas of the Kingdom of Eswatini. Our objectives

MYC organization strives to provide a safe and enabling environment for margnalised children and youth at risk… using a holistic approach to ensure the wellbeing, education and skills development for these young people in order to realize a future where they are empowered to contribute towards social development.

To create a positive living environment in which the vulnerable youth feels welcome and cared for as basis for social, educational and professional development.

To integrate the vulnerable youth by providing holistic care, support and protection through shelter, food and education.

To prepare the youth for vocational training and tertiary education so that they can be independent in the future.

The department aims to provide comprehensive Christian care, support and protection to the vulnerable youth.
