Started by Fr. Larry and Fr. Peter Doherty, with funds from the Salesian Mission, Belgium, the Bosco Study Centre caters yearly to approximately 300 students who have dropped out of the formal school system and wish to upgrade their academic subjects for the O Level Exams.
The Bosco Study Centre was originally set up in 1993 offering students the chance to ‘upgrade’ their end of school results, to fulfill minimum entry requirements for universities and colleges. In 2011 the centre also targeted Form 3 because there was a need to improve their examination grades and acquire credits so as to proceed to the next level of education. The Bosco Study Centre continues to offer low cost ‘upgrading’ courses in Maths, English, Biology, and Physics in Form 5. In Form 3 courses offered are English, Maths, Geography, Siswati, Religious Education, Science and Acc/Business Studies.
