The Pre-School Teacher Trainer Centre (PTTC) is one of only two governments recognized pre-school teacher training centres in the country. It trains young women from peri-urban areas to be pre-school teachers. The fees cover all of the costs associated with the centre, including the costs of running a free pre-school for children from the local area.
The PTTC trains an average of 40 students per year to start up their own pre-school, to work in an existing pre-school or Neighborhood Care Point. The course lasts one full year to complete. Currently, there are 60 female students enrolled for both part-time and full-time classes.
